What is V-Day?  V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women a=
nd girls.  V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase aw=
areness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence o=
rganizations.  Through benefit performances of =93The Vagina Monologues,=
=94 unique documentary film projects and innovative gatherings designed to =
change social attitudes toward violence, V-Day generates broader attention =
for the fight to stop worldwide violence against women and girls including =
rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sexual slavery.=
  In its first six years, the V-Day movement has raised over $20 million.  =

The V-Day Worldwide Campaign invites members of communities around the worl=
d to present benefit productions of =93The Vagina Monologues=94 on or aroun=
d V-Day (February 14th) to raise money and awareness to stop violence again=
st women and girls.  The proceeds from these events are donated directly to=
 local organizations in the community that are working to stop this violenc=
e.  The Worldwide Campaign strives to empower women to find their collectiv=
e voices and demand an end to the epidemic levels of violence and abuse in =
their communities around the world.
