Re:  Hudson Players - Fiddler on the Roof Opens TONIGHT

HUDSON, OHIO - "Fiddler on the Roof" opens tonight at Hudson's Barlow
Community Center.  The production is directed by Rich Jagunik and Sonny
Sonnhalter and co-produced by Gary Maher and Trish Davis.  Music
direction is being provided by Debra Burkhart.  

Mark DePompei and Candace Russell star as Tevye and Golda with Marissa
Montigney (Hodel), Sarah Seider (Tzeitel) and Samantha Childress (Chava)
as the eldest daughters.  Other leads include: Jack Jackowicz (Lazor
Wolf), Doug Lillibridge (Perchek), Daniel White (Motel) and Sally Morris
(Yente).

"Fiddler" performances are February 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, 29 and March
5, 6, at Hudson's Barlow Community Center.  Shows are Friday and
Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, with a 2:00 pm matinee performance on
February 29.

Set in 1905, "Fiddler on the Roof" takes place in Anatevka, a small
Jewish village in Ukraine. The story revolves around a dairyman, Tevye,
and his attempts to preserve his family's traditions.  Tevye must choose
between his own daughter's happiness and those beloved traditions that
hold their community together. Meanwhile, there are forces at work which
threaten to destroy the very life he is trying to preserve.  "Fiddler"
features such songs as "If I were a Rich Man," "Tradition" and "Sunrise,
Sunset."  It opened on Broadway in 1964 and ran for over three-thousand
performances.
