Hope Summer Repertory Theatre is looking to fill openings in it's Sound
Department for the Summer of 2004 season. Hope Summer Rep is located on the
campus of Hope College in Holland MI, about 30 mins outside of Grand Rapids,
along beautiful Lake Michigan.

We are looking to fill the following positions:

Sound Technician:

This position is responsible for running sound for performances, loading in
and setting up equipment, strikes, change overs, and some light equipment
maintenance. Musical mixing experience and experience with SFX software a
plus. Design opportunities are available for those that are interested and
qualified, but they are not mandatory. Salary depending on experience.

Sound Design Intern:

This position is designed for undergraduate college students, who are
interested in Sound Design. This position works closely with the Resident
Sound Designer, as an assistant designer, and designs the sound for at least
one of our productions. Running crew assignments and change overs are also
part of this position. A stipend and paid college credit are provided.

Both of these positions included free housing. The housing that HSRT
provides is very nice. Every staff member has their own bedroom, and shares
living and cooking areas with only 3 to 4 other staff members. The living
quarters are homes that are owned by the college. No typical college dorm
rooms.

The season runs from late May (May 24th is the first day of rehearsals this
year) until early Aug. Start dates for both of these positions are
negotiable, however the first production opens June 18th.

HSRT produces 8 productions in 4 separate venues over the course of the
summer.

4 Mainstage productions in DeWitt theatre (2 musicals) - in repertory
1 Second Stage Production
2 Children's Theatre productions in our black box studio theatre
1 Cabaret - located in an old movie house off campus

These positions are ideal for college students who are interested in theatre
sound, and are looking to gain more hands on experience, work with new tools
and in different venues, and even have some fun during the summer. (Lake
Michigan is only a few minutes away) A heavy emphasis is placed on the
learning experience, as well as producing the shows.

No High School students please. Unfortunately we can not accept high school
age students at this time.
