Weathervane Playhouse Announces
Auditions BY APPOINTMENT for
"Nunsense"

Weathervane Playhouse will hold AUDITIONS BY APPOINTMENT for the musical 
"Nunsense," by Dan Goggin.  Auditions will be held at Weathervane Playhouse (1301 
Weathervane Lane, Akron, In the Valley off Merriman Road) on...
Saturday, March 20 between 1& 5 p.m. and
Sunday, March 21, between 5  & 8 p.m.
Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Monday evening, March 22 at 7 p.m.

Cast requirements:  5 Women between the ages of 18 and mature adult
Character descriptions:
Reverend Mother -- age 35 +up, needs to belt
Sister Hubert -- age 35 +up, needs to belt and sing "Gospel" style
St. Robert Ann -- early 20s +up, "tough girl" also need to belt
Sr. Amnesia -- early 20s + up, sings "country" style, ditsy
St. Leo -- the novice, age 18 - 25, ballet helpful but not necessary
            
Prepare:    Any upbeat song not to exceed 2 minutes in length.  Bring sheet 
music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.
Auditions will also consist of cold readings from the script.

Director for the production of "Nunsense" is Ken Wilhelm. Wilhelm has 
extensive background in opera, oratorio and musical theater as a performer, director 
and teacher.  He directed Weathervane's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to 
the Forum."  Musical Director is Margaret Knepper who was musical director for 
many Weathervane Productions including "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor 
Dreamcoat."

All roles are available. Weathervane Playhouse is committed to 
non-traditional casting.  Except in cases where race, gender, age or disability is essential 
to the play, all roles will be cast on the basis of talent.  Weathervane 
Playhouse is a community theater.  All performers in all productions are 
volunteers.
