Eastern U.S. Premier of one-act opera
One False Move by Susan Kander at The Andrews School

One False Move, a new one-act chamber opera, is being presented by the
students of The Andrews School.  Stage Director for the production is
Kari Kandel; Music Director is Marge Adler.  Both are well-known to
Cleveland-area audiences.

The Opera was commissioned in 2003 by the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. 
It was inspired by Rachel Simmon's best-selling book Odd Girl Out.   The
book examines social standing and the hidden culture of aggression among
middle-school and high-school girls.  

Both Ms. Simmons (author) and Ms. Kander (composer) will be attending
the performances at Andrews and will host pre-show and post-show
discussions with the audience.
