A free choral concert will be given:
Saturday, March 13, 5:30pm
by the University of Alabama's UNIVERSITY SINGERS
at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist
E. 9th & Superior
downtown Cleveland
This concert, conducted by Dr. Gregory Gentry, will include two movements
from Stravinsky's MASS, Sergei Rakmaninov's "Bogoroditse devo" (in Russian), "All
That Hath Life and Breath" by Rene Clausen, and other sacred pieces by
Vaughan Williams, Victoria, Palestrina, and Anna Amalia.
The group, a mixed choir of 35 singers, is including this appearance as part
of their spring tour to Cleveland where they will be performing on Sunday--by
special invitation--for the national conference of the Society for American
Music.
