ACTOR/TEACHER JEFF GROVER TO OFFER "ACTING THE GREAT ROLES" FOR TEENS.
This April, Jeff Grover will join the teaching staff at Fairmount Center and
will be offering an 8 week "Acting the Great Roles" workshop for TEENS with
a focus on training and developing an actor's process. In this workshop,
Mr. Grover promises a positive learning experience where students work in an
atmosphere of freedom and trust. Designed to address individual needs,
students in this class explore script analysis, the actor's preparation for
a role, character development and rehearsal techniques. Students who attend
Mr. Grover's workshop will have an opportunity to audition for the Fairmount
productions later in the year. Workshops meet Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30
- 6:30 pm beginning April 6 and continue for eight weeks through May 20.
Workshops are held at Fairmount's newly acquired Lake House at the
Centerville Mills Campus in Bainbridge. Just 2 miles from the corner of Rt.
306 and Rt. 422. Cost for 32 hours of training is $265.00.
"I can't tell you how enthusiastic I am about leading this workshop.", said
Mr. Grover. "As a kid, I fell into the theatre and absolutely loved it.
Since then, I have trained, and worked professionally. For a young man or
woman to explore their creative selves is not only a skill building event,
it literally can be a transforming experience that prepares the student to
face and conquer all aspects of life. I believe that the imagination has a
unique power to unleash the genius in each person. Add to that the
incredible beauty of Centerville Mills, and you've got a great workshop. I
hope everyone will join us!"
A board member of the Cleveland Play House and Dobama Theatre, Jeff Grover
is also a fine actor and teacher. He has worked at many Cleveland
professional theaters, including the Beck Center (where his work as Trigorin
in the Seagull met with high praise from the local critic's circle). He
appeared in "Six Degrees of Separation," as Flan in 2003. The production was
named "Best Play of 2003" by Northern Ohio Live for Professional
Productions. Jeff as worked as an actor at Charenton Theater, Cleveland
Public Theater, Dobama Theater, Ensemble Theater and the JCC's Halle
Theater. He is represented by The Talent Group, and has appeared in numerous
industrials, commercials and print media. Film credits include the soon to
be released feature "Kingsbury Run," as well as the short "Save The Day."

Jeff attended the University of Michigan and Case Western Reserve
University, where he earned his BA Cum Laude in Theatre. He continues to
study voice at The Cleveland Music School Settlement, and currently studies
acting with Tom Fulton and most recently, Brian Zoldessy

Thomas Q. Fulton, Jr., Executive Artistic Director for the Center is clearly
happy to have Jeff Grover joining the staff at Fairmount.. "I just
finished directing The Seagull at Beck Center with Jeff Grover playing the
lead. His careful, detailed performance; his powerful work ethic; and his
openness gave life to a Trigorin that stands apart from most. The kids will
love him. He's one of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure to
work with - and he cares deeply about giving young artists an opportunity to
learn their craft. I hope every teenager who reads this gets a chance to
study with Jeff Grover. It is going to be a marvelous class, filled with
challenge, growth and fun!"

Those interested in attending the TEEN ACTING WORKSHOP - "Acting the Great
Roles" should contact The Fairmount Center Offices by calling 440-338-3171.
