Victoria Karnafel Korkosz, a wonderful actor and singer, died suddenly
Monday March 22nd., of what appeared to be an embolism that made its way to
her heart.

Ms Korkosz was an accomplished theatrical and film actor and member of the
Screen Actors Guild.  Notable credits include her role as Allison in the
Off-Broadway production of Look Back in Anger and her role as "The Sad
Looking Girl" in the Academy Award winning film The Deer Hunter.  Her
Greater Cleveland work included numerous performances with Near West
Theatre, Dobama, Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, Red Hen Productions and
Charenton Theatre Company, most recently in the Cemetery Tour of Spoon River
Anthology.  She is especially remembered for her musical theater portrayals
of Dolly Levi in Hello Dolly and Miss Hannigan in Annie.  Ms. Korkosz was
very active with her husband Arthur, at Clevelands Hermit Club.

Victoria earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts in 1979 from the
University of Akron; and was honored with awards for Best Actress and Best
Actress Experimental Theatre Company for the 1975-76 season.  She received
additional theatrical training with the American Stanislavsky Theatre and
the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Ms Korkosz was also an active fundraiser on behalf of social service and
performing arts organizations in the Cleveland area.  In the mid 1990s she
was director of Grant Writing for the West Side Ecumenical Ministries and
went on to establish VK & Associates, coordinating successful fundraising
projects on behalf of Dobama Theatre, West Side Community House, Merrick
House, and the Northeast Ohio Breast Cancer Coalition.

Visitation will be this Thursday from 7-9 PM
Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM

Funeral Saturday March 27, 10:00 AM at St Barnabas Catholic Church, Sagamore
Hills, followed by internment at All Saints Cemetery.

For those of us who knew Vicki, we our shocked and saddened by this loss.
The world just won't be the same without her!
