Carousel Opportunities at Kalliope Stage

RIDE CAROUSEL
Kalliope Stage is very pleased to announce cast members for our=20
upcoming production of CAROUSEL. Rehearsals begin April 12, and=20
CAROUSEL opens May 14 for a four week run. There are opportunities=20
still available to participate in this very exciting production.=20
Appointments can be made for remaining roles by emailing resume and=20
audition request to Artistic Director Paul F. Gurgol at=20
pgurgol at KalliopeStage.com, immediately. All Equity roles have been cast.

Kalliope Stage is proud to announce that Aaron Ramey is Billy Bigelow=20
in Kalliope Stage=92s upcoming production of CAROUSEL. Mr. Ramey=20
premiered on Broadway in the original cast of Thoroughly Modern Millie.=20=

He starred as Chris in Papermill=92s Miss Saigon and appeared nationally=20=

as the Beast in Disney=92s Beauty and the Beast. He comes to Kalliope=20
from Baltimore Center Stage where he is currently playing the role of=20
Anthony in Sweeney Todd.

Joan Ellison will be playing the role of Julie Jordan. Ms. Ellison=20
returns to Kalliope Stage after her much-lauded debut in A GRAND NIGHT=20=

FOR SINGING. She is adjunct professor of voice at Baldwin-Wallace=20
Conservatory, and an eminent music director and vocal coach. She is a=20
principal singer and co-creator/arranger of Circa 1939, specializing in=20=

historical performance of American popular songs of the 1920=92s-40=92s.

William Clarence Marshall will be playing the role of Enoch Snow. Mr.=20
Marshall has performed internationally as an actor, singer, and=20
recording artist, including Carnegie Hall, the Aspen Music Festival,=20
and PBS Great Performances. He starred as Joe in Hal Prince=92s =
Showboat,=20
and has been widely acclaimed as Porgy in the Kennedy Center=92s Porgy=20=

and Bess. His second CD After Hours will be released later this year.

The role of Mrs. Mullen will be played by Susan S. McGinnis. She=20
appeared most recently as Miranda=92s secretary in Sex and the City. Ms.=20=

McGinnis performed onstage in New York at Playwrights Horizons, New=20
York Stage and Film, Independent Theater Company, and Grove Street=20
Playhouse. She is the founder of the Seaside Shakespeare Festival in=20
Nantucket, Massachusetts. Ms. McGinnis recently relocated to Cleveland=20=

from New York.

Marla Berg will be playing the role of Nettie Fowler. Ms. Berg is an=20
accomplished opera singer, musical theater performer, and Cleveland=20
favorite. She has appeared with the Cleveland Orchestra, St. Louis Bach=20=

Festival Orchestra, Denver Chamber Orchestra, and at Carnegie Hall. She=20=

has starred as Julie in Carousel at Augusta Opera and Cleveland Opera,=20=

Fiona in Brigadoon with New England Lyric Opera, and Maria in West Side=20=

Story with Cleveland Opera.

Mark Flanders will appear as the Starkeeper. Mr. Flanders has a=20
distinguished career of performance in Cleveland. He has appeared at=20
Cain Park, Halle Theater, Great Lakes Theater Festival, and Playhouse=20
Square. The role of Carrie Pipperidge will be played by Carrie Hall.=20
Ms. Hall is a voice major at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory and has=20
appeared at Mercury Summer Stock and Titus Theater. Talented young=20
dancers from the Akron Ballet will appear in the roles of Louise and=20
the Carnival Boy and as Ensemble members. MaryAnn Black will=20
choreograph the production. Ms. Black is on the dance faculty at Akron=20=

University. She has distinguished herself as a performer of stage and=20
screen, including performing the role of Maggie in the Los Angeles=20
company of Chorus Line and a role on the sitcom Sugar Time.

NOW CASTING . . .
The non-singing roles of Heavenly Friend, David Bascombe (male 50+),=20
and Captain (male 50+) remain to be cast. The lead singing role of=20
Jigger Craigin is also available. Ensemble of excellent singers is=20
needed to play small roles and will be featured prominently. Rehearsals=20=

Monday-Thursday evenings and Sundays at the theater. Please email=20
