Tickets going fast for Singing Angels' "Oz" spring spectacular

CLEVELAND-More than half the tickets for the internationally renowned Singing
Angels' musical journey to Oz on May 23 have already been sold. 

The Allen Theatre event will be one of the biggest shows of the group's 40-year
history, complete with a sparkling backdrop of the Emerald City and a colorful
and dramatic medley from the beloved "Wizard of Oz."

The 3 p.m. Sunday concert will also feature the homecoming of several past
Singing Angels directors, who will lead the audience through a musical history
of the group and its diverse repertoire. In addition, copies of the Angels'
soon-to-be released CD, Walking on Sunshine, will be on sale. It will be the
first of two releases this year.

The group brings decades of experience in performing arts. In addition to the
choruses' enthusiasm and talent, there are professional choreography, lighting
and costumes to make their events true crowd-pleasers. The Angels' Performing
and Training Choruses, totaling 350 young people ages 8 to 18, will sing
together for "Let There Be Peace on Earth"; the ever-popular
audience-participation Sing-A-Long will return; and hundreds of Singing Angels
alumni will join the kids on stage for "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

This year, the group's 40th anniversary, is an especially exciting one, with a
slate of top-end performances including recently announced tours of England and
France this summer and a black-tie gala scheduled for fall.
