MARCY RONEN CASTING IS SEEKING TALENT FOR A PROMOTIONAL 

TRAILER FOR A LOCAL FEATURE FILM.

"Thorns" is a promotional trailer for an upcoming feature film. 

The trailer will be shot on Super 16mm film. Thorns is a 

non-union, non-guild shoot, scheduled to shoot 

May 20th - May 26th, 2004 (all actors will not be needed all 

shoot days). All talent must work as locals. There is no pay, 

but this is an excellent opportunity to act on film. 

All talent chosen for the trailer will be considered for 

a role in the actual feature project.

Saturday May 1, 2004 - 6:00-9:30pm

Sunday May 2, 2004 - 6:00-9:30pm

Sides will not be available before audition. 

Talent must bring their headshot, resume, and a recent snapshot (that we can keep) to the audition.

SYNOPSIS

Thorns is the story of a lonely fourteen year old girl named 

Colleen who lives with a dysfunctional family. As Colleen 

begins to fall in love with Michael, the slightly older boy who 

lives across the street from her, she suddenly vanishes.

Thorns explores the sweetness of teenage love and the haunting 

darkness of a life altering event.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

All characters are Caucasian, unless specified. 

COLLEEN, 14, Colleen is a dreamer. Very innocent and 

impressionable.  Looking for a young, introspective girl. 

Mandy Moore type of look. Age range for casting is 14-21.

MICHAEL, 16, Michael is Colleen's love interest. He is a 

consciencous, moral young man. Looking for a Hayden Christensen 

type. Good looking but not overly masculine. Age range for 

casting is 15-24.

NATALIE, 17, Natalie is Colleen's older sister. She is outspoken 

and very much an extrovert. Thinking of a scarlet Johansen type. 

Sexy. Age range for casting is 15-26.

THOMAS, 41, Thomas is Colleen's father. He is a brooding, 

darker individual. A Tom Sizemore type. A little gruff. 
Age range for casting is 35-45.

KATHLEEN, 40, Kathleen is Colleen's mother. She is an aloof 

person who doesn't tend well to her daughters. Looking for a 

beautiful, refined woman. Virginia Madsen type.
