Come to Me in Dreams tells of a man who survived the horrors of World
War II, his recollections of his wife and a daughter who died at the
hands of the Nazis, and his surviving daughter, to whom he finally
reveals his story. In a moving and uplifting conclusion, he comes to
terms with the past and can look again to the future.

Come to Me in Dreams is a World Premiere by Amercian composer Lori
Laitman. Lori Laitman has written some of the most moving and beautiful
art songs composed by an American composer, with a number of them
related to the Holocaust. These have inspired Cleveland Opera's
Founding Director, David Bamberger, to select a number of her pieces to
create the scenario for a compelling stage work. The songs being used
include selections from "I Never Saw Another Butterfly", Ms. Laitman's
setting of some of the surviving poems written by children at the
Terezin deportation camp before they were sent to Auschwitz.
