International pianist Emanuela Friscioni and four members of The Cleveland Orchestra, Takako Masame (violin), Sae Shiragami (violin), Lembi Veskimets (viola), and Bryan Dumm (cello) have joined talents to present an All Brahms Chamber Music Concert on Friday, May 21, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. to benefit the community music and arts programs of the Broadway School of Music & the Arts in Cleveland.  The concert will be held in Cathedral Hall, Trinity Commons, 2230 Euclid Avenue (enter and park off Prospect).  The featured compositions will be the Sonata in E Flat Major for Viola and Piano, Opus # 2 (1895), and the Piano Quintet in F Minor, Opus # 34 (1864).  Bill O'Connell of WCLV-FM will host the concert; a reception to meet the musicians will follow.  Tickets are $65, and can be ordered through the school, (216) 641-0630.  The concert is sponsored by Masonry Restoration - Maintenance, Inc. with special support from Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, LLP, Forest City Enterprises and the
 Cobalt Group.
 
The Broadway School of Music & the Arts (BSMA), founded in 1981, is located in the former Hruby Conservatory building in the Historic Broadway District of Re$tore Cleveland, just ten minutes south of downtown.  A non-profit, non-degree granting community school of the arts, BSMA is committed to enriching the cultural lives of people in the community through quality music instruction and fine arts programming.  BSMA offers individual instrument instruction, and group classes in dance, music, theatre and visual arts.  A certified member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, BSMA strives to provide these services to all persons regardless of age, race, religion, financial means or level of ability.  The BSMA is the primary arts educational organization serving the diverse residents of southeast Cleveland.
 
BSMA's outreach program has served over 25,000 children and adults in nearby public and parochial schools and other settings since 1992.  Current sites include Willow Elementary School, the Southeast Women's Center of Community Assessment and Treatment Services, and the Broadway/Slavic Village neighborhood where BSMA is guiding a community mural project during late Spring, 2004 in partnership with Slavic Village Development Corporation.
