Award winning writer, producer, and director, Bill Johns is auditioning cast and crew for a new short film entitled, "Left for Dead". This is a no-pay gig, but meals and copy will be provided. 

Left For Dead is the story of a young girl who's father has been dropped off to die at home. Terminally ill patients are often returned to their homes where it's believed they will be more comfortable, but the lasting effects of watching a loved one die in your living room are often insurmountable and this film is based on the true events in one such young girl's life.

Open auditions will take place in Painesville on two Saturdays, June 26th and July 3rd, from 10am-2pm.

THE CHARACTERS:
Samantha 
Sam's a sweet, playful young girl between 11 and 14. She is the central focus of the film and must be able to portray a full range of emotions, from a silly show-off to an introverted recluse with suicidal tendencies... oh and she has to kiss a boy!

Kevin
Kevin is Sam's friend, who's been watching both Sam and her father go downhill for a while. Like many young people he's trying to be cool by smoking, but never really gets a puff of smoke out because Sam stops him. Kevin is between 13 and 15, and oh, he has to kiss Samantha.

Brad
Sam's older brother is between 15 and 17, and has just sort of shut everything out. He spends much of his time with his friends and avoids the eventuality of his father's death. His anger about what's happening is one of the things that pushes Sam over the edge.

Judy
The wife and mother is often the only one holding everything together and Judy is always visibly drained from the effort. She believes in hope, but sometimes crumbles under the strain.

Ted
Diagnosed with cancer a year earlier, Ted's condition has gradually taken his health and his looks. He is a handsome man in his late 30's but the disease has taken it's toll and by the end of the film it takes his life.
