ennessee Williams=92s Pulitzer prize-winning play=2C A Streetcar Named De=
sire=2C July 1 - 17=2E

Set in the steamy hotbed of 1940=92s New Orleans=2C the genteel and prete=
ntious Blanche DuBois=2C (played by Monica Bell=2C who captivated audienc=
es last year as Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest) moves =
in with her sister Stella and Stella=92s brutish husband=2C Stanley Kowal=
ski=2E  Soon after=2C Stanley begins to question the reasons behind Blanc=
he=92s arrival=2C especially the lost fortune of the DuBois family=2E  On=
e of Stanley=92s card playing buddies Mitch takes a liking to Blanche and=
 they commence a slow courtship=2E  However=2C Stanley exposes Blanche=92=
s jaded past=2C which leads to her decent into madness=2E  Tennessee Will=
iams creates an evocative environment of smoldering sexuality=2C tender d=
reams of romance and stark violence with power and poetry=2E This play is=
