Beck Center for the Arts Audition
BY JEEVES
The Alan Ayckbourn & Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical
Comedy

Bertie Wooster and his manservant, Jeeves, hit the
road to untangle Bertie from the 
romantic schemes of his oddball society friends in
this comic romp with music. 
Based on the classic P.G. Wodehouse stories.

10 comic lead roles for character actors who sing.
Not a sung-through musical.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, July 20 & Wednesday,
July 21 beginning at 7pm.
Please call (216) 521-2540 for an appointment.
Prepare and bring sheet music for a standard Broadway
or Lloyd Webber song.
Accompanist provided.
Acting audition from the script.

Rehearsals begin August 9.  Area premiere on September
17.  Closes October 10.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

7 Male Roles:  20's to 50's
3 Female Roles:  20's to 30's
British accent for all but Cyrus Budge.

BERTRAM WOOSTER.  A British bachelor.  Confident in
his inabilities.  Playful and charming.

JEEVES, his manservant.  The brains of the duo. 
Navigates Bertie through each day keeping his boss'
dignity more or less intact.

HONORIA GLOSSOP, his ex-fiancee.  A bulldozer of a
woman.  Frank, cheery and strong.  Prone to laugh &
chat through her overbite.

BINGO LITTLE, his friend.  An animated nerd made
occasionally brave by his undeclared love for Honoria.

GUSSIE FINK-NOTTLE, another friend, in love with
Madeline.  A nervous reclusive scientist with a
passion for pond-life.

SIR WATKYN BASSETT, a magistrate.  An authoritative
but somewhat befuddled public official.  A gracious
host and over-protective father.

MADELINE BASSETT, his daughter.  Cute. Spoiled.
Blonde.  Eager to please.  Cries easily.

STIFFY BYNG, his ward.  A diminutive, scheming force
of nature.  Gets her own way through pleasantries or
other means.

HAROLD "STINKER" PINKER, a clergyman in love with
Stiffy.  An enthusiastic muscular chap prone to break
things.

CYRUS BUDGE III (Junior), an American guest.  A
chivalrous businessman and man's man.  Also in love
with Madeline.
