lyrics by Harry Chapin. The show had been scheduled through July 11th, 2004.=

Additional performance are July 15,16 and 17th at 8 PM Sunday July 18th at 2=

PM; and the following weekend July 22, 23, and the final performance will be=

July 24th at 8 PM. All performances take place in the air-conditioned theate=
r at=20

The Play=20
The work is based on the book =E2=80=9CThe Cotton Patch Version of Matthew a=
nd John=E2=80=9D=20
by Clarence Jordan. The play is a retelling of the gospel according to=20
Matthew, set in contemporary America (Georgia). Harry Chapin, who composed a=
nd=20
performed a number of top forty hits (=E2=80=9CTaxi,=E2=80=9D =E2=80=9CCat=
=E2=80=99s in the Cradle=E2=80=9D) wrote the=20
music and lyrics for the show. Some critics call it his best work. Chapin wa=
s=20
killed in a car crash before the play opened. He was 38.

The Cast

Roland Kausen (guitar & mandolin) returns to Actors' Summit, having performe=

the same show during the theaters' inaugural season, is the musical director=

Sally Groth (fiddle), frequently seen at Actors=E2=80=99 Summit, reprises th=
e first=20
role she performed for the company. Deborah Holthus and Bob Keefe, both of w=

have done multiple roles for the company. Kent LeMar, another regular=20
performer at Actors' Summit, is playing Jesus.New to the theater company are=

Tickets are $25.00 on Fridays and Saturdays and $22.00 on Thursdays and=20
Sundays. Students and Seniors receive a $4 discount. Students under age 18 a=
