Nunsense, A-MEN! A benefit for the AIDS Taskforce=20

of Greater Cleveland

=20

August 5, 2004 (CLEVELAND, OH) - On Monday, August 30, 2004, the Little
Sisters of Hoboken will visit Lakewood's Beck Center for the Arts for
the third annual ATFGC benefit musical, Nunsense, A-Men!
Director/co-producer Curt Arnold notes, these sisters aren't very
"Little": "Three of our nuns are over 6 feet tall, and they all spend
more time at the gym than any nuns I've ever met!"=20

=20

That's right - although Nunsense, A-Men! presents the same story and
music that many may know from traditional productions of Nunsense, the
new production will be performed by an all-male cast. Those who
attended last summer's benefit, Forever Plaid, will recognize singers
Ian Atwood, Colin Cook, G.A. Taggett and Curtis L. Young, all of whom
will don habits to appear in this year's show. Joining them in the role
of Mother Superior is well-known Cleveland actor/director Kevin Joseph
Kelly. =20

=20

Although the five performers are friends offstage, Nunsense, A-Men! is
the first opportunity for all of them to perform together, an
opportunity they welcome. "Getting to perform with these guys, and
singing a big duet with Kevin - this is the high point of my summer!"
says Taggett. Cook, who also appeared in Falsettos, agrees - to the
point of traveling from New York, where he now lives, to do the show.
"As soon as I heard about it," he says, "I said 'I'm in. I'll find a
way to make it work.'" Kelly sums up the feelings of the ensemble: "The
energy and talent in this cast is amazing, it's out of control." For
music director Charles Eversole, that energy is infectious. "It cheers
me up to come to rehearsal with these guys - they work hard at what
they're doing," he says. "You can tell that they're having fun, so the
audience will have fun with them."

=20

Tickets for Nunsense, A-Men! are available now from the Beck Center Box
Office, 216-521-2540, or at Diverse Universe, 216-221-GAYS, Body
Language, 216-251-3330 or AIDS Taskforce, 216-357-2223. Nunsense,
A-Men! will also be presented at Weathervane Community Playhouse
(330-836-2323) on August 23 and 24, 2004, to benefit Akron's Community
AIDS Network.
