Gather your clan and head for Lock 3 Live! park for the "Luck O' The
Irish" festival on Saturday, August 21, between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. at
Lock 3 Live!=20
Delight at numerous Irish bands that will play everything from tender
Irish ballads to fast-fingered jigs and raging bluegrass Celtic rock.
Scavenge for a pot of gold and four-leaf clover. Relish specialty
beverages and ethnic foods. Take a Gaelic lesson, or an Irish instrument
workshop, arranged by the Ancient Order of Hibernians - an Akron
organization involved in this festival. Other "all things Irish"
featured by The Hibernians include step-dancers, story-telling,
specialty foods, merchandise vendors, even Irish canines. The group will
also conduct a 50/50 raffle. Kids can participate in a potato toss. In
addition to the fun and games, the fest will also feature national,
regional and local groups including Solas, Clumsy Lovers, Knot Fibb'n,
Callahan & O'Connor, and That Irish Band.

Lock 3 Live! Park is located on Main Street in downtown Akron, next to
the Akron Civic Theatre. The $10 admission includes all concerts and
entertainment associated with this event, except for inflatable "rides"
for children, where tokens are sold. Admission is free for children
under 48 inches. Bring a canned food item to benefit the Akron/Canton
Food Bank, or show your Montrose Ford VIP card, and you can buy one
ticket at full price and get the second ticket for half price. Get half
off the price of a regular priced ticket with proof that you're a Key
Bank customer.
Cash-only tickets are sold at the Lock 3 Live! gates 30 minutes before
the event. For advance tickets, call the Akron Civic Theatre Box Office
at 330.253.2488 between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday.

Live! has been expanded this season. Homegrown provides the perfect

through September 25, between 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. When the Homegrown
vendors close shop at 2 p.m., folks can stick around town or come back
later for the festival
Free parking is available in the O'Neil's Deck (entrance off State
Street), Cascade Parking Deck (enter from Quaker Street) and Landmark
Deck (entrance off Bowery Street). Paid parking is available in the
Summit County Parking Deck (entrance off High Street).
