Dear NEohioPAL Subscriber ~

Children fancy themselves floating with butterflies, dancing with bears
and singing with the Man in the Moon. On Saturday, August 28 from 3 p.m.
to 8 p.m. at Lock 3 Live! park, entertainment and activities at the
Lollipoplooza Children's Festival will feed those vivid imaginations to
make children and adults feel as if they're sitting on a cloud or 'round
a campfire.

Well-known entertainers from stage, song and screen will share musical
stories with a message. From old favorites to new tales of childhood,
parenthood, life and love, the tunes performed by these singers,
songwriters and musicians will arouse curiosity, inspire creativity,
induce laughter and capture hearts.

Lollipoplooza spotlights national acts such as Tom Chapin, Red Grammer,
Rick Hubbard, Prairie Orchid, and costumed characters including Garfield
and Jeffrey the Giraffe - the Toys R Us mascot. A live pony carousel, an
animal petting zoo, inflatable "rides," marble tournaments, and
kite-flying (with free kites for kids) will also keep the children and
their families entertained. The Lock 3 Live! Summer Arts Experience will
spark artistic interests. "Safety Town" personnel will explain fire
safety and demonstrate fire trucks, and friendly policemen will
introduce children to K-9 dogs. Parents can also register their kids for
Child identification.=20

The festival runs from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Lock 3 Live! park--located on
Main Street next to the Akron Civic Theatre--is operated by The
University of Akron's management team at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts
Hall and the Akron Civic Theatre. There is a $10 festival fee, except
for kids under 48 inches tall. Bring a canned food item to benefit
Akron/Canton Food Bank, or show your Montrose Ford VIP card, and you can
buy one ticket at full price and get the second ticket for half price.
Get half off the price of a regular priced ticket with proof that you're
a Key Bank customer.=20

Cash-only tickets are sold at the Lock 3 Live! gates 30 minutes before
the festival begins. For advance tickets, call the Akron Civic Theatre
