Dear Poets + Friends of Daniel Thompson,

Please be informed that we are holding a benefit for the Homeless Grapevine,
AND a tribute concert for our poet-warrior, Daniel Thompson, to be held on
Friday, August 27.

The show's line-up includes:

KMOB jazz/rock fusion trio
Drumplay world percussion ensemble
Furnace St. electronica/rock duo
J. Scott Franklin spoken word and trumpet player
       +
Poet-Friends of Daniel Thompson

I hope you will generously respond by coming out to this show. I promise you
a good evening of entertainment. We have left room in the program for
poet-friends of Daniel to come forward (no, you don't get in for free), and say a
few words or poems. There is limited time-availability; but we don't wish to
exclude anyone. We will get underway at 8:00 p.m. Proceeds go to this special
project of the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless.

If you cannot come to the benefit on this night; you can always make a
donation to help them defray expenses (actually, to keep publishing), which is
something Daniel Thompson would have wanted. I hope this will be the first of many
dedicated benefits for Northeast Ohio's "street newspaper". By doing so, we
help to keep their voices heard AND their concerns addressed. You may contact
briandavis at neoch.org for specifics on how to make a donation.

As Hurricane Charley demonstrates, homelessness can be a personal issue with
which to deal. Let's lend a hand; and we will see you at the Beachland
Ballroom, Friday night, August 27.
