Hudson Players Announce Auditions September 12 & 13 For You’re A Good Man
Charlie Brown

The Hudson Players will hold auditions for their You’re A Good Man Charlie
Brown (Revival Version) at 7 pm, September 12 & 13, at Barlow Community
Center located on Oviatt Street in Hudson, across from the Hudson Fire
Department.

You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown played for 1,597 performances in New York at
the Theatre 80 St. Marks in 1966. The show is best described as an average
day in the life of Charlie Brown. It is a day made up of little moments
picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the
baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the
lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the
string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit
evening.

In 1998 the authors and producers of the original 1966 musical show, You’re
A Good Man Charlie Brown, decided it was time for a major revival of the
work in a Broadway theatre. The idiomatic, intimate innocence of the
characters that is presented in the original stage production has been
maintained, but a new perspective has been added by emphasizing the
insatiable insouciance of the characters that was held in check in the
original. The new cast of characters includes Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy,
Schroeder, Snoopy and Sally Brown

Performances will be November 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 19 & 20 at 8 pm at the
Barlow Community Center. More information is available via the Hudson
Players website (www.hudsonplayers.com) or by calling 330-655-8522.

Auditioners are asked to bring a prepared song. Accompaniment will be
provided. Those attending should also be prepared to read from the script
and do some slight movement exercises.

In addition, the Hudson Players are assembling their 3rd Annual Community
Talent Show being present September 17 & 18. Tickets are available now by
calling the box offices at 330-655-8522.

The Hudson Players are one of the area’s longest running community theaters
and are members of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, The Ohio Community
Theatre Association and the American Association of Community Theater. The
Hudson Players are a non-profit 501-C-3 organization.
