On September 25, 2004 in Cleveland, Ohio, three short films directed by
Johnny Wu and Shawn Wickens of Media Design Imaging (MDI) will be shown
at Independent Pictures' 2004 Ohio Independent Film Festivals, which
follows recent screenings of six of their short films in Italy. This,
once again, documents the merits of MDI's films - projects about
compelling topics that will continue to be shown at festivals and
conventions worldwide.

The 5th Annual Director of Photography Workshop with Jeff Barklage,
Robert Banks Jr. and Tiffany Laufer will kick off this year's festival
on Nov 7, 2004 at WVIZ/PBS' Ideastream Station in Brookpark (sponsored
by MDI, Kodak, WVIZ, etc). Then, starting on Monday, five days of
independent films are slated to screen all the way through Sunday,
November 14, 2004 at the Cleveland Public Theatre. More information and
screening schedules can be found online at: <http://www.ohiofilms.com/>
http://www.ohiofilms.com.

Films screening at 2004 Ohio Independent Film Festival include:

The Chase -- Follows the plight of a young beauty as she flees from a
pursuer through the halls of an abandoned building. "The Chase" is the
result of a self-imposed challenge by the filmmakers to produce a
silent, yet compelling martial arts driven story in an enclosed
environment. Containing highly choreographed fight scenes, stunt
performers, wirework and stylized lighting, "The Chase" is an attempt to
create a live-action Anime. Screened at various film festivals, national
sci-fi conventions, as well as featured at various internet sites such
as kungfucinema.com and atomfilms.com. "The Chase" is the first-ever
short film created by independent filmmaker in Cleveland on the usage of
wire-stunt works. This is the prelude to their current more
sophisticated project, "A Joker's Card" (Gotham City Realm Fan Film).
2003, 3:32min. Cleveland Premiere. <http://www.mdifilm.com/thechase>

tells a story of a person with DID. The story of a typical day for the
"brothers" Roger and Dave until they are caught between a woman.
Includes the music video, "Untitled #1" from Sigur Ros. 2003, 9:58 min.

John Doe's A Fly in My Soup (directed by Shawn Wickens) - "John Doe..."
is part of a series of short films that thematically don't relate to
each other -- but make sense when played back-to-back. "A Fly In My
Soup" depicts of John Doe during a hot afternoon as he has to
distinguish the real world and his imagination. 2004, 9min. USA Premiere
