Marjorie  Witt Johnson Diversity Awards.=20
October  2004  =E2=80=93 Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre=E2=80=99s (CCD=

enhance the lives  of minorities and all people by celebrating diversity=20
through dance.  At a  recently held meeting CCDT=E2=80=99s Board of Director=
s nominated=20
and elected two  Northeast Ohio civic leaders to receive its first Marjorie=20=
Witt=20
Johnson  Diversity Awards.  Both  recipients uphold CCDT=E2=80=99s and Ms. J=
ohnson's=20
ideals through their devotion to  enhancing the lives of minorities and othe=
rs=20
through civic endeavors, support of  the Cleveland Community, and their=20
continued active support of the arts. CCDT  chose to name its award after lo=
cal=20
dance pioneer Marjorie Witt  Johnson because her efforts as a social worker=20=
and=20
dance educator helped  to provide minorities and youth with the tools necess=
ary=20
to become contributing  members of cultural and civic communities across=20
Northeast Ohio, the country and  beyond.  =20
The award ceremony will take place during CCDT=E2=80=99s annual =E2=80=9CNig=
ht  Before=20
Christmas=E2=80=9D benefit performance on Saturday, November 20,  2004 at Tr=
i-C Metro=E2=80=99s=20
Main Theater at 6:30p.m.  Ms. Johnson is schedule to make a rare  public=20
appearance to present the awards to this year=E2=80=99s honorees.  The benef=
it includes a=20
reception with  scrumptious heavy hors d=E2=80=99oeurves, a silent auction a=
nd CCDT=E2=80=99s=20
performance of its  expanded holiday production =E2=80=9CNight Before Christ=
