THE PETE BEST BAND

Forty years ago four lads from Liverpool led the British Invasion which overtook these shores. The Beatles are arguably the most prolific and popular rock group of all time. Before it was John, Paul, George and Ringo, it was John, Paul, George and Pete. The Beatles and many other bands that made up the Mersey Beat got their start in a little club called the Casbah. The Casbah was owned by Mona Best. Her son, Pete became the drummer in 1960 for the Beatles. Best was part of the band when they went from a house favorite to conquering Hamburg. Prior to their big breakthrough and eventually taking over the music world, Best was given notice that he was being replaced by Ringo Starr. Instead of whining about what could have been, Best kept his chin up and had mild success with his own band until he retired in 1968. After 20 years of retirement, Best put together what was supposed to be a one off show and has resumed touring and recording again. The British Invasion has hit the shores
 again as the Pete Best Band is touring across the country now playing music of the Mersey Beat era as well as some newer material. 
The Kent Stage is located at 175 East Main Street in downtown Kent, Ohio.  There is FREE parking behind the theater and on all city streets.  Advance discount tickets are available at Woodsy's Music and Spin-More Records in Kent, Little Mountain Music in Middlefield at www.kentstage.org or at 330-677-5005.
