About the show
It is 1958--Mario Destafano is fed up with working in the family restaurant
on the West side of Cleveland.  After a bitter argument, he heads to Las
Vegas to follow his dream of being a musician.  Unfortunately, the bright
lights are filled with shady characters, a broken-down performer, and no
gigs.  Facing his pathetic circumstances with the help of an angelic friend,
Mario realizes how important his family is.  A jubilant reunion arises as
Mario returns home to the family he so missed.  Now the Destafano's are
together again--una famiglia!

AUDITION INFORMATION
Please prepare one short song (uptempo or ballad).  Pianist will be
provided.  A Capella auditions and taped accompaniment are accepted.

Main roles
Mario Destefano - 20's, 30's - Man who has lived his life under the wing of
his family and now is trying to make it on his own in Vegas

Tony Destefano - 20's, 30's - Mario's brother who is laid back and has a
twinkle in his eye.  He picks up the slack in the restaurant when his
brother leaves.

Lou Destefano - 50's, 60's - Italian father (accent required) who tries to
keep his family together after Mario leaves

Angelina Destefano - 50's, 60's - Italian mother (accent required) who is
very upset about her son leaving

Fredo Consiglio - 50's, 60's - Regular at the restaurant (Italian accent
required).  Lou's friend 

Additionally, there are other roles and a chorus for men and women of ages
20 and up

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will begin the week of December 27 and will continue through the
opening of the show on March 4.  There will be three rehearsals per week,
but not everyone will be required to be at every rehearsal.
