Actors Open 2005 Artists and Lecturers Series=20
Walsh University in Canton opens its 2005 Artists and Lectures Series on
Friday and Saturday, January 21-22, 2005 with two one-act plays =
performed by
John Capocci and the Actors of Farinella's Ghost. Appearing in =
productions
of Elaine May's The Way of All Fish and Adaptation are Patty Carmola, =
Carol
Capocci, Tammy GraySmith, Barry Wakser, James GraySmith, and John =
Capocci -
all well known in the Canton area for their diverse stage talents. The =
Way
of All Fish is the story of a female CEO
and her secretary who end up sharing take-out one night but little else =
in
their diametrically opposed approaches to life. Originally
presented as one of three one-acts written by May and Alan Arkin, the =
piece
was formerly called Power Plays. Adaptation likens American life to a TV
game show. A host and two assistants accompany "Phil Benson," through =
the
seven stages of his life. Set in 1969, the work shows us a cataclysmic =
year
in American culture that still resonates today.
=20
Performances are on Friday and Saturday, January 21-22, and will begin =
at 8
p.m. in Walsh University's Science Center Auditorium. Admission is $6 =
per
adult or free with a Walsh ID. Tickets are available at the door. A
reception will follow each performance. For
further information, call (330) 490-7106. The Walsh website can be found =
at
http://www.walsh.edu.
