CALL FOR FILMS AND VIDEOS 2005 Ohio Independent Film Festival (OIFF)

For Immediate Release: February 9, 2005

Contact: Annetta Marion or Bernadette Gillota, Co-Founding Artistic Directo=
rs of=20
Independent Pictures, presenter of the OIFF, (216) 651-7315

"What would filmmaking be without quality film festivals? The OIFF ranks wi=
th the best,"=20
say Patrick Shen and Greg Bennick, festival veterans with their film FLIGHT=
 FROM DEATH:=20
THE QUEST FOR IMMORTALITY. The Ohio Independent Film Festival is one of the=
 leading=20
independent film events in Ohio. The 2005 OIFF, this November in Cleveland,=
 Ohio, will=20
mark the organization's 19th festival. Like many festivals, the OIFF is a j=
udged and=20
internationally recognized line-up of first-class independent films from ar=
ound the world.

But here's what is unique about the OIFF: it only accepts film and video su=
bmissions=20
*without* theatrical distribution and the festival is programmed 100% from =
those=20
submissions. Exclaims Gina Carducci of STONE WELCOME MAT, "(The) OIFF has a=
 way of=20
respecting the independent filmmaker like no other festival=85 Maybe other =
film festivals=20
will take a hint!" Additionally, every film and video entrant is offered a =
free festival pass=20
regardless of acceptance status. "The Ohio Independent Film Festival is tha=
t rare festival=20
that understands filmmakers, probably because it is run by and for filmmake=
rs," adds=20
Sheldon Gleisser of FILTERED IMAGES. So submit your films and videos! Deadl=
ines to=20
submit films and videos for the 2005 OIFF are: March 1 (early), May 1; June=
 10 (late).=20
