Are you looking to participate in an upcoming production?

The City of Shaker Heights is proud to announce Shaker Center Stage,=20
formerly=A0 known as Boulevard Theatre. SCS is committed to providing perfor=
mance=20
opportunities in the theatrical arts to performers and quality entertainment=
 to the=20
members of the community.=20

We are announcing a production of "Schoolhouse Rock Live!". It's a retro=20
visit to the 1970's animated television series with some of their most memor=
able=20
educational songs including "I'm Just A Bill", and "Conjunction Junction".=20

This will be my debut as a director after providing musical direction for=20
many productions around town - including "Smokey Joe's Cafe" and "Five Guys=20=
Named=20
Moe" directed by Martin Cespedes at the Beck and "Ragtime" directed by Fred=20
Sternfeld at Tri-C East.

"Schoolhouse Rock Live!" calls for six performers - 3 male, 3 female - who=20
sing and move well. The setting is a failing diner where the songs inspire i=
deas=20
to save it. The characters, in order of appearance, are:

Cookie - baritone, the chef=20
Julie - soprano/belt, the waitress=20
Rebecca - alto/belt, a "regular"
Nina - mezzo-soprano, the co-owner
Lucky - tenor, job applicant
Tom - tenor, a teacher

Auditions will be held at the Shaker Community Building (next to the Shaker=20
Public Library on the Northwest quadrant of Lee and Chagrin Boulevards) on=20
Tuesday 2/15=A0 and Thursday 2/17 from 6:30 - 9:00 PM. Callbacks will be the=
=20
following Tuesday 2/22. Performance dates are April 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16,=20=
17.

All interested auditionees should prepare a song, a reading, and reply to=20
this=20
e-mail (skysnatv at aol.com) to schedule a time. An accompanist will be=20
provided. We are also looking for individuals with expertise in technical su=
pport and=20
volunteers willing to help the cause.

Thank you,
David Williams
Theater Coordinator/Director
Shaker Center Stage
