Technical Director is responsible for construction, load-in, and tech of=20
three productions (play, musical, opera) in two spaces=E2=80=94a 250-seat an=
d a 1700-seat=20
proscenium theatre--as well as offer tech support for a dance concert. The T=

must have high production values, excellent construction skills, an ability=20=
to=20
work with a variety of materials, as well as a working knowledge of safety=20
standards and rigging. The best candidate will be a willing collaborator as=20=
well=20
as an efficient problem solver. There is a modestly equipped scene shop on=20
the premises. There is also an Assistant Technical Director. The TD position=

very hands on, however, it will also require the supervision of two=20
carpenters. The carpenters will be interns, so there will be a significant a=
mount of=20
instruction involved. This person must have good communication skills and be=
=20
highly organized. The TD is responsible for all crew scheduling--work calls,=
=20
load-in (with additional student crew during load-ins; scheduling in consult=
ation=20
with the Director of Theatre Arts and the Lighting Designer), running crew,=20
strike--as well as budgeting for sets, paints, and maintaining tools and=20
facilities. Sets must be completed on time and before load-in (including pai=

is responsible for creating tech drawings as needed (will need to provide ow=

drafting equipment). Office space and housing are provided. This position=20
