Dear Jean - Boy these attacks are getting tiring.

One.....I am not a "disgruntled attendee."  I merely voiced an opinion about 
my reaction about some things said at the meeting. 

Two.....The name is spelled Faktor...not Factor.  You've known me 14 years 
you know that.  

Three....I indeed remember hugging you when I arrived at the meeting.  I do 
not remember hugging you afterward, but that doesn't mean I didn't...I might 
have.  I'm certain I smiled at you.  I like you...why would I not smile?  Even 
if you do or say something I disagree with, it wouldn't stop me from liking 
you.  I can disagree with someone without being nasty with them.   I don't recall 
saying "That was great."  I may have said "Nice job" because you DID do a 
nice job. You did a terrific job of organizing the event, putting together a 
panel, preparing and presenting the power point presentation and keeping things 
rolling.

Four....I FULLY AGREE with the original issue of PAYING for talent when 
working for any gig which generates income or where the others are being paid.  I 
am NOT ANTI-union or ANTI-pay or ANTI-fairness.  Anyone who reads my original 
letter can see that.  Why do you and Shelly insist on personalizing this with 
attacks on me?  I didn't name call or attack anyone!

Five....Yes, it is true I offered to be on the panel.  I wanted to help the 
original cause of PAY FOR COMMERCIALS, and felt I would be helpful with my 
imput.  I have served on other acting panels, have a nice reputation in town as a 
working actor, write for Blue-ize magazine, and have mentored and coached 
several actors in town. I believed in what the meeting was standing for...Fair pay 
for commercial work.   You said you had a full panel, then I saw another 
notice of you adding more panelists, so I volunteered again. When you again sent a 
notice of another added panelist, I said if soemone cancelled at the last 
minute, I'd be glad to help out and step in.  And this was wrong of me????  
Why????     

Six....I can't help flashing a dimpled smile...they are a permanent fixture 
on my face and I love people, so I smile a lot. 

Seven....I'm paraphrasing here....I didn't have a tape recorder, but I 
definitely recall people being advised by (Mike Kraft, I believe?) that even if they 
are non-union, they should ask for union...even higher than union...rates, 
and to tell the employer they would be saving on H&R, etc. and if there was no 
pay to say no to the gig.  

Eight....I remember Bill John's Statement as being "It seems like as soon as 
someone gets really good, they leave Cleveland."  I sensed no insult, 
ill-intent, or anger in his statement.  It sounded like a personal observation to me. 
(and it's not the first time I've heard that statement made...even by actors)  
I took no offense by it, but you got instantly upset and made "inflammatory" 
remarks in rebuttal, not Bill.  

 Nine....I resent your name-calling and slander.  I live my life in 
integrity.  I am NOT a hypocrite, nor a liar, nor am I "proclaiming outrage."  I was 
NOT outraged by the meeting.  Never felt it, never said it.   I merely expressed 
an opinion opposite of yours, and obviously this is just not acceptable to 
you or Shelly....you two seem intent on making ME the enemy here.  I am NOT the 
enemy Jean.  I only expressed an opinion.

   Ten...My email was NEVER devised not intended as "grandstanding" nor 
"self-serving."  I asked two people I respect and trust.....Fred Sternfeld and 
Mitchell Fields....to be TOTALLY HONEST with me, about if they interpreted my 
original email as "self-serving" or a "bio" etc.  Both emphatically said "NOT AT 
ALL."   Perhaps you have me confused with the fact that you regularly respond 
to things on Fred's list to promote Lipschtick and your Menopause appearances?  
There's no one in town who promotes themselves as aggressively as you, Jean.  
Take the log out of your own eye before you try to remove my speck.  My 
intention was NEVER self-promotion. Believe it or don't - I really don't care. 

In closing, Jean, I have nothing but the highest respect for your level of 
talent as an actress, singer, comedian, voice-over talent and business woman.  I 
love your sense of humor and your energy level and your passion.  I also have 
the highest respect for all of the other panel members whom I know.  I DO NOT 
DISAGREE WITH THE "IF MONEY IS MADE, THE TALENT GETS PAID" MOTTO.  We've 
known each other for 14 years.  I have no anomosity toward you.  I'm very sorry 
you feel the need to slander me because I dared to express an opposing opinion.
