Call for Submission - 10 Minute Plays

To celebrate it's 10th anniversary, The Fine Arts Association's One Act
Festival will kick off the 2005-2006 Theatre Season in October, 2005 .  To
make it even more special the Festival will once again showcase original,
never been published, ten minute plays.  The works chosen will be fully
produced in the intimate Shadowbox Theatre as part of the 10th Annual One
Act Festival -- "Hot from the Oven."

Submissions will be accepted beginning immediately of original ten-minute
plays.  All submissions will be considered.  Deadline for submissions is May
31, 2005.   Original plays accepted for the festival will be announced by
approximately July 15, 2005.

Guidelines for submission:

- Submissions must be original, unpublished, unproduced 10-minute plays.
Plays that have had staged readings will be accepted. Plays that have
received full productions will not be accepted.  Legal clearance of
materials not in the public domain is the full responsibility of the
playwright.

- No limit to number of plays submitted, but only one play per author will
possibly be chosen.

- Maximum Length: 10 pages.

- Not open to musicals.

- Sets and technical requirements must be minimal. Standard set pieces and
props will be available for the production.

- Plays must be typed/word-processed, numbered, & securely bound in a
(preferably soft) cover with a cover page containing the following:  Title,
your name, address, phone number and e-mail. 

-  If you would like your scripts returned, include an S.A.S.E. with your
submission.  If no S.A.S.E. is included, your script will be recycled. The
timeframe for return of scripts is at convenience The Fine Arts Association.

- All play submissions will be handled with care. However, the Fine Arts
Association assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged scripts. 

- Mail 2 copies of each script to: Ann Hedger, Ten Minute Plays, Fine Arts
Association, 38660 Mentor Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio 44094.

-  The number of plays to be produced will be at The Fine Arts Association's
discretion and will depend on the mix of qualified submissions chosen.

- Selections will be made by The Fine Arts Association Theatre Department
and inclusion in the festival is at their discretion.

- All submitting playwrights will be contacted by e-mail about the status of
their submission by approximately July 31, 2005.

- Submissions must be received by the Fine Arts Association by the deadline
to be considered.  Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2005.
