Spring 2005 Dance Classes

for adults and teens

CPT Academy is delighted to offer instruction in modern dance from one of
Cleveland's most exciting and accomplished dancers - VERB BALLETS principal
dancer Mark Tomasic.

6 Saturdays: April 16 - May 21

Take one class or both! 

1:00 - 2:15 Beginning Modern Dance Technique. Excellent for those new to
modern dance or dancers who want to improve skills. Use of the torso will be
emphasized. Through the use of center exercises, floor work, and locomotive
movement, students will build stamina and flexibility while increasing core
strength. Combinations across the floor will improve balance and strength,
while enhancing musicality and theatricality. $75 (or $100 for both classes)

2:30 - 3:30 Choreography Workshop. Great training, and just plain fun. Learn
the basic elements of dance and how to incorporate them into your own
choreography. Teamwork will be emphasized as students learn how to
incorporate space, time and energy into an original dance work to be
performed at the end of our session. 

$65 (or $100 for both classes)

Instructor Mark Tomasic has danced many principal roles with Verb Ballets.
He has also danced with such renowned dance companies as Cleveland San Jose
Ballet, Ballet Contemporeano de Buenos Aires, Dancing Wheels, Tom Evert
Dance, and Dayton Contemporary Dance.

Classes take place at the Old Parish Hall, 6203 Detroit (just east of
Cleveland Public Theatre).
