What is PURE?
PURE is community of dancers and drummers who share their art with the =
public for the purposes of healing and peace.=20
Goals of PURE include:
1. Creating positive change within the performers, and with the
    audience witnessing the event as well as the greater society.=20
2. Building community and effect global action through dance.=20
3. Improving peoples perception of bellydance.=20
4. Celebrating the beauty of diverse body types and ages

PURE was started in New York city in May 2004, and has since expanded to =
other cities around the US.

PURE Workshop: The PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment) workshop will =
emphasize working in a group, using your peripheral vision, tuning into =
each other, breathing together and learning PURE specific choreography =
and sequences. Movements PURE uses are inspired from ancient sacred =
dances, Tribal and Cabaret bellydance and folk dance.

Who are the Instructors?
Kaeshi Chai is based in New York city. She co-founded "PURE" with =
Darshan from "Gypsy Caravan" in Portland and "Bellyqueen" dance company =
with Amar Gamal. Kaeshi has performed all over the world including =
Europe, Australia, Trinidad, the US, Mexico, Canada and Bali. In 2004, =
she was the dance captain for the Bellydance Superstars and Desert Roses =

Jenn Parker is one of the original PURE NYC members and will be =
assisting Kaeshi with the Cleveland workshop. She has performed at =
numerous festivals and has participated in PURE's infant stages and =
watched it grow into a beautiful, healing community, with performances =
ranging from the first procession-dancing through the streets of New =
York City, to fundraisers for "We, the World", honoring the UN's =
international day of Peace.
She began dancing in 2001 at Habeeba's in Columbus, Ohio,  she then =
studied with Morocco, founder of the Casbah Dance Experience and Kaeshi =
of Bellyqueen while in New York.=20
Jenn is currently living in Cleveland, Ohio, where she studies under =
Cassandra al Warda, with whom she hopes to help build the foundations =
for a PURE branch in northeast Ohio.=20
