Dance Institute Summer Session

Audition Date: 
April 29th, 2005 6:00 pm *

 
* If you are unable to audition to the these dates, a special audition date may be able to set, or you may audition by video for a $25.00 fee; either of these may be arranged through the Dance Institute Office: 330-972-7949 or dance_institute at yahoo.com. The video Audition should include: 
 
-An abbreviated barre: Barre exercises on one side only, alternating sides with each exercise.
-Center Adagio
-Pirouettes in Center
-Small jumps
-Grande Allegro
-Pointe for those with experience. 
 

 
The Dance Institute of the University of Akron is pleased to announce it's annual Summer Intensive Workshop.The Summer intensive is open to children 3-18. Dance Institute's four week summer intensive focuses on the kinetic breakdown of movement rather than encompassing one style or technique. Building technique from barre to center work kinetically, our school emphasizes principals of alignment, placement, and musicality. 
 
The summer intensive classes start with analysis of each student's physical strength, body alignment and technical ability. In each level, students first concentrate on basic movements and terminology and subsequently move on to more complex work. 
 
Dorms are available, with 24 hour supervision. Sunday afternoon through Friday evening is $187.00/wk
