Good Company: A Vocal Ensemble presents the final
concert of its tenth anniversary season on Sunday
afternoon, May 22, 2005, at 4:00 pm in the sanctuary
of Lakewood Presbyterian Church, 14502 Detroit Avenue
at Marlowe, in Lakewood. Music director Karen Weaver
leads the twenty-member mixed ensemble in a program
entitled Fairest Isle: Music from Great Britain,
featuring Benjamin Britten’s Hymn to St. Cecilia,
Vaughan Williams’ Benedicite, and works by Handel,
Purcell, Elgar, Wilbye and Ravenscroft.

Featured artists for this concert include Margaret A.
Limkemann, organ, and Susan Lezan, piano.

Good Company is a group of experienced singers who
came together in 1995 to study and perform music from
the chamber choral repertoire. Since then, they have
presented several concerts each season, appeared on
the series at St. John’s Cathedral, and issued a
recording, A Rose E’er Blooming, which features music
for Advent and Christmas.

The ensemble’s name was inspired by the text of
"Pastime With Good Company," a tune composed by Henry
VIII of England. In observance of the tenth
anniversary, this number will be featured at the May
22nd concert.

The concert is free and open to the public. A
free-will offering will be accepted, and a reception
will follow. For more information, contact Karen
