FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAST CHANCE TO SEE =91CRIMES OF THE HEART=92 AT SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS =
DIRECTED BY JACQI LOEWY

Solon Center for the Arts is proud to present the final production of the =
2004 - 2005 Theater Season, Crimes of the Heart.=20

The scene is set in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, five years after Hurricane =
Camille. The three maladjusted Magrath sisters have gathered to await the =
news of their grandfather, the patriarch of the family, who is in his last =
hours at the local hospital. Lenny, the eldest, is unmarried at thirty and =
desperate. Meg, the middle child, has just returned from a failed attempt =
at a singing career in Los Angeles. The youngest, Babe, is depressed and =
ends up out on bail after shooting her husband. Though their troubles are =
serious, it becomes hilarious when highlighted by their uncouth cousin =
Chick; Barnette, a young, awkward lawyer who falls for Babe while trying =
to keep her out of jail; and Doc Porter, an old flame of Meg who comes =
back to town. Ultimately, the play is about how they escape the past to =
seize the future - so true and touching and funny that you will remember =
it long after the performance is over. Director Jacqi Loewy appeared in =
the revival of Crimes of the Heart at The Village Theater in New York.

The Solon Times Reporter, Herb Hammer, said "Susan Lucier, as Lenny, =
anchors the play, giving it the sweetness it deserves. Holly Facer gets =
most of the laugh lines, as Babe, and does fine work, as does Mary Alice =
Beck, as Meg, who drinks and plays around with every guy she finds."

"The rest are all terrific," Hammer said. "Holding on to their Mississippi =
drawl to the very end. Jacqi Loewy directs beautifully as she draws us =
into this quirky family. This is the last weekend for 'Crimes of the =
Heart.' Please see it."

Crimes of the Heart, by Beth Henley, is presented through special =
arrangements with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.=20
