African Soul International presents its original stage production in the =
Palace Theatre, May 28th, 2005.

Isis is a talented teenager with a quick wit, a smart mouth and a bad =
attitude.  She is so talented that she thinks that it will compensate =
for those other minor flaws. =20

But one day, she is whisked off, on a magical voyage to Mother =
Africa.where she finds peace, love and community.  The elders help her =
to discover her true self as they reveal her heritage and culture- and =
take her through her initiation and rites-of-passage.

Isis is so overwhelmed with the sights, sounds, and beauty of this =
communal culture that she does not want to come back.but the elders =
assure her by saying, "you must go home.but we will always be with you".

She is then instantly returned, back to her life in the hard streets of =
the hood, where she must learn to spread the culture, love and joy that =
she has learned from her ancestors.

This production incorporates hip-hop, West African Dance and live music, =
poetry, drama, and song to deliver an uplifting message of redemption =
and faith.

The project was written and produced by Sista Jewel, and is directed by =
Mama Yvetta Elay, with assistance from Mr. Eugene Hare.

With a cast of fifty (50) dancers, actors and singers, this family =
oriented production is not to be missed.
