CALL FOR FILMMAKERS FOR PROJECT WITH CLEVELAND'S FIRST INGENUITY FEST

For Immediate Release: May 31, 2005

Contact: Annetta Marion or Bernadette Gillota, Co-Founding Artistic Directors of
Independent Pictures, presenter of the OIFF, (216) 651-7315

Cleveland, Ohio-Ingenuity Cleveland '05, in collaboration with Independent Pictures, is
seeking proposals for filmmaking on the streets during Ingenuity. Ingenuity is the
Cleveland Festival of Art and Technology, when James Levin and Thomas Mulready plan to
crowd Euclid Avenue from Public Square to E. 9th Street with people, arts, and
technological demonstration. Filmmaking on the city streets will take place on Friday,
September 2nd and allow all of Ingenuity Cleveland to watch or even become a part of one
of the four films to be shot. This one-day filming spectacle will utilize FOUR local
filmmaking teams to create FOUR different short films that capture the theme "Architects
of the Apocalypse". Each selected filmmaker will receive a stipend upon turning in his or
her completed film.

Filmmaking teams will shoot on designated street corners in downtown Cleveland (all near
the heart of the Ingenuity activities) on September 2nd. Each filmmaker will have to
prepare a treatment around the theme "Architects of the Apocalypse". Filmmakers will
have to assemble their team, actors, and equipment, and should feel free to incorporate
any surrounding Ingenuity activity into their films. Preference will be given to projects that
will be shot on either super 8 or 16mm film. The films will be shot from 10 am to 10 pm
that Friday, September 2nd and will premiere at the Ohio Independent Film Festival in
November at Cleveland Public Theatre.

Contact Bernadette at Independent Pictures (216) 651.7315 or
