RABBIT RUN THEATER PRESENTS "THE MUSIC MAN"

It has been almost fifty years since "The Music Man" opened on Broadway =
in 1957. It was a hit then, and it is still a hit. It's lively and =
warm-hearted music and lyrics by Meredith Willson continue to delight =
theater goers generation after generation. Patrons of the theater in =
Northeast Ohio have the opportunity to delight afresh in this musical as =
Rabbit Run Theater presents "The Music Man" as its third musical of the =
season.

=20

Not much is happening in staid River City, Iowa, in the year 1912 until =
con man Professor Harold Hill (played by Bob Godfrey) arrives and begins =
to work his wares on the good citizens of this small mid-western town. =
Hill's racket is to convince the town of their need for a boys marching =
band. After raising money to purchase instruments and uniforms Hill =
intends to abscond with the funds leaving the town a little poorer and a =
lot angrier. His plans go awry when he falls in love with River City's =
straight-laced librarian, Marian Paroo (portrayed by Sandy Kosovich =
Peck). Marian is not the only one to work her way into the Professor's =
heart; however. Little lisping Winthrop Paroo (Jonathan Porter), =
Marian's younger brother, is also able to tug on the heart strings of =
Hill.=20

=20

Things get a little sticky for Hill as it dawns on the townsfolk that he =
knows nothing about music or marching bands. In the end Hill must =
decide if he will allow Marian to bale him out or stay and "face the =
music".
