OBERLIN, OHIO=97Bridget-Michaele Reischl, music director of the Green =
Bay=20
Symphony Orchestra since 2001, has joined the faculty of the Oberlin=20
Conservatory of Music at Oberlin College as visiting associate=20
professor of conducting and music director of the Oberlin Orchestras.=20
She will retain her directorship of the Green Bay Symphony.

=93Bridget Reischl is a phenomenal musician and teacher and a very =
gifted=20
conductor,=94 says Dean of the Conservatory David H. Stull in announcing=20=

her appointment. =93We are enormously pleased to be bringing her to=20
Oberlin.=94

Reischl=92s appointment became effective July 1, 2005, but this will not=20=

be her first experience at Oberlin; from the fall of 1990 until the=20
spring of 1992 she served as Oberlin=92s interim orchestra conductor.

=93I am honored and delighted to have this opportunity=97Oberlin =

me so much back then,=94 says Reischl. =93It is very exciting to be=20
returning. I can=92t wait to get started.=94

Reischl=92s first concert will be with the Oberlin Orchestra on Sunday,=20=

October 2, at 8 p.m. in Finney Chapel. She will also conduct the spring=20=

opera, The Merry Wives of Windsor, in March 2006.

Since becoming the first American to win Italy=92s Antonio Pedrotti=20
International Conducting Competition in 1995, Reischl has been an=20
active guest conductor internationally and throughout the United=20
States.

 =46rom 1992 to 2004, Reischl was music director of the Lawrence =
Symphony=20
Orchestra and associate professor of conducting at the Lawrence=20
University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin.=09

Reischl is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music. As a student of=20
Robert Spano =9283, she continued her studies as a conducting fellow at=20=

both the Aspen and the Tanglewood music festivals, where she worked=20
with Seiji Ozawa, David Zinman=9258, and Murray Sidlin.  She is recorded=20=

on the Velut Luna, CRI, and Sea Breeze Record Company labels.

The Oberlin Conservatory of Music, founded in 1865 and situated within=20=

the intellectual vitality of Oberlin College since 1867, is the oldest=20=

continuously operating conservatory in the United States. Renowned=20
internationally as a professional music school of the highest caliber=20
and pronounced a =93national treasure=94 by the Washington Post, =
Oberlin=92s=20
alumni have gone on to achieve illustrious careers in all aspects of=20
the serious music world. Many of them have attained stature as solo=20
performers, composers, and conductors, among them Jennifer Koh, Steven=20=

Isserlis, Denyce Graves, Franco Farina, Lisa Saffer, George Walker,=20
Christopher Rouse, David Zinman, and Robert Spano. All of the members=20
of the contemporary music ensembles eighth blackbird and the=20
