AN EPIC-SCALE INTERGENERATIONAL PRODUCTION OF
GODSPELL
SEPTEMBER 6, 7 & 8
We are looking to cast a 60 member ensemble,
ages 7 on up, of high energy adults, teens and kids who can sing, dance, act
and
wish to experience the power and healing
of a loving community.
Audition Dates: September 6, 7 and 8
(Just come on ONE of these dates!)
Times: Children Ages 7-12 6:00-7:00pm
Teens and Adults Ages 13 on up 7:30-10:00pm
Place: St. Patrick's Club Building 3rd floor
3606 Bridge Ave in OHIO CITY
THIS IS A GROUP AUDITION PROCESS.
ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING TIME.
NO PREPARED MATERIAL NEEDED. WEAR COMFORTABLE
CLOTHING AND SHOES FOR DANCING.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
WE STRIVE TO CREATE A RELAXED, PLAYFUL,
FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT FOR AUDITIONS.
Anyone arriving after the starting time will not be able
to audition that evening.
Director's Note: Even though this production will involve a cast of 60, the
essence of this Godspell will be the "day by day" formation of an intimate
community. The ten original characters known as Jesus, John/Judas, Jeffrey,
Lamar, Herb, Robin, Joanne, Peggy, Sonia and Gilmer will remain.
"Blind guides, blind fools!
The blood you spilt on you will fall
This nation, this generation
Shall bear the guilt of it all!!!"
A screaming cacophony of babel. A final cry of cosmic exhaustion.
An apocalyptic warning blast. A messy, wet miracle.
"Hey, I wanna get washed up!"
And it begins. Again. But for the first time.
The prophet, the anointing, the community, the alchemy, the dying, the call,
the possibilities.
This theatrical circus based on the ancient writings of Matthew was brought
to the world stage by John Michael Tebelak in the 1970s. It has never left
that stage.
Countless productions across every continent on the globe have sounded its
call to mercy and renewal. Universally inspiring at its best, tired
proselytizing at its worst, Godspell has treasure for anyone ready to dig. At NWT we
will stage it with a large cast of children, teens and adults. Guaranteed to be
a wild, bumpy and heavenly ride.

Side".
