Children's Letters to God "is a whimsical and charming family-oriented =
production about the innocent joys of growing up!" (The Daily News). The =
story addresses the unavoidable issues of, the death of a pet, parents =
divorcing, friends moving away and childhood crushes. Among the =
questions asked by the young letter-writers include "Dear God: If you're =
so famous, how come you're not on TV?" and "Are you really invisible or =
is that just a trick?"=20
=20
Children's Letters to God is a wise yet na=EFve story recited by five =
talented young actors, Cleo Berry, Kari Morris, Matte O'Brien, Traci =
Skoldberg and Joseph Zahn. Stuart Hample, the creator of the best =
selling book, has adapted "Letters" from the page to the stage with =
music by David Evans (Birds of Paradise) and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen =
(No Way to Treat a Lady ). The set design is by Anna Louizos, lighting =
design by Kirk Bookman, sound design by Peter Hylenski and costume =
design by Gail Brassard.=20
=20
"What drew me to Children's Letters to God was its universal message =
about discovery and wonderment," Director Stafford Arima told Playbill =
On-Line. "Stuart, Doug and David have created an engaging and utterly =
charming musical that truly celebrates and illuminates those questions =
in life everyone asks. What I love about the material is that it crosses =
the boundaries of age, geography and religion: Everyone can connect with =
this material whether he or she is 10 years old or 90, or whether he or =
she is from the United States, Canada or Korea. Most importantly, the =
show deals with questions and issues that are related to life and not a =
specific religion."=20
