Sarah Sutton - "New Paintings and Drawings"

CLEVELAND, Ohio (October 10th, 2005)- New paintings and drawings by Kent
based artist, Sarah Sutton, will be on display at raw & co gallery located
on 1009 Kenilworth Avenue in Tremont from October  21th, 2005 through
November 27th, 2005.

Sarah's paintings have a non-rational logic of sensation that suggests
connections with other arts such as music, cinema, and literature. Sarah's
working method explores the tension between the controlled and the
accidental. Paint is applied fluidly and abstractly letting the medium
determine the path forward.  This is juxtaposed with imagery found online,
in fashion magazines, medical journals, and sexual aid catalogues. The found
imagery is cut up, and re-assembled to create hybridized building blocks of
the visual components of contemporary culture. Sutton's inspiration is found
in 1960's utopianism and this is referenced though depictions of blueprints
and diagrams that are seemingly impossible - such as fertility machines, and
growth machines fueled by glittery disco balls.

Sarah Sutton graduated from the John Carroll University with a BFA and is
currently working on her last year in MFA program at Kent University. 

There will be two opening receptions, October 21st, 2005 from 6-10 PM. and
November 11th, 2005 from 6-10 PM.

 Assistant Technical Director

 The Cleveland Play House is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated 
individual with good communication skills to assist in the purchasing and 
ordering of supplies and materials for its production departments.  Other 
duties include but are not limited to providing technical support for a 
three show children's season, two to three show MFA season and work 
directly with the Technical Director on the eight mainstage productions. 
 Applicant must possess basic theatrical building skills, be able to lift 
and carry 50 or more pounds, and experience with Vectorworks or AutoCAD a 
plus.  Applicants must have a valid driver's license with clean driving
