CLEVELAND INSTITUTE OF MUSIC PRESENTS "SONATA WHAT YOU EXPECT!"

Talent Show Features Trustees, Faculty, Staff and Students Showcasing ''Hidden'' Talents

---------------------------------

For all those Northeast Ohioans who think they know everything there is to know about the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), it's time to think again! The trustees, faculty, staff and students will present ''Sonata What You Expect!'' on Sunday, October 30 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $30 premium, $20 general, $10 student and $100 sponsor. They can be obtained by calling (216) 791-5000, ext. 411, Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Cleveland Institute of Music, located in University Circle, is one of the best places in the world to study classical music. It presents amazing concerts of the highest quality and features an outstanding array of faculty, students and guest artists. But many of the people involved with CIM have their own hidden talents as well! Many faculty and students excel not only in classical music, but are dancers, comedians and jazz artists. Members of the board of trustees and staff are trained musicians - and some just know how to have a really good time.

CIM will assemble talent that might not be quite what you expect for this once-in-a-lifetime event. One student, a virtuoso violist, is also an accomplished performer on ... a blade of grass. With performances by Mal Mixon, chairman of the board, and David Cerone, president; from the blues to PDQ Bach and Michael Jackson's Thriller - you never know what will turn up! One thing's for sure, though - it will be a great time, all for a very good cause, as a benefit for the CIM Annual Fund to provide scholarships.

For more information, call (216) 791-5000 or visit cim.edu.
