You may have seen my previous posting...looking for women over the age of 35 who are interested in possibly forming a "girl band" (see the original copy at the end of this email).

There have been numerous calls and emails to me (to my delight) of interested women but we are still sorely in need of interested women who have solid talent in instrumental music. Particularly in lead guitar, maybe in bass guitar, we would also try violin, love to have a cellist. Acoustic instruments are great but would consider electric instruments as long as the softer, haunting sounds are possible...the only caution is that this isn't going to be a loud rock band.

See below for further details. Please call me if interested (we are at the "getting to know you" stage) and the goal is to find like-minded, creative women willing to explore musical performance. There may be room also for dance, poetry, dramatic or comedic sketches and other performance ideas. Call (216) 397-5831 to indicate your interest (ask for Christine).

Previous email I sent:

"Professional Singer wants to form an All "Girl" or nearly All Girl Band - must have creativity, talent, passion and a sense of humor and be at least over 35 because this ain't your regular "girl band". Tunes will range from Sarah MacLachlin to Joni Mitchell to Billie Holiday to Diana Krall with room for other genres, original tunes, original sounds and lots of middle-aged female creative development. Must be open to alternative ideas, have capacity for lots of humor, and be open to a creative experience.

Part I will be forming the concept of this group, working together to find the best fit of musicians and ideas. I have vision but the "final result" is not clear and should be dynamic, given who the "group" becomes. At this point I reserve the right to make "final decisions" about group composition and direction...if consensus doesn't work.

This will hopefully be a paying gig someday but if making money is your primary motivation, this probably isn't the right fit for you. This will be part-time as I work fulltime, perform sometimes in plays, and have a home life and friends.

If this sounds like something you may be interested in, please call me so we can talk about it. When I get enough interest, a first meeting will be scheduled.

You must have some type of musical or performance talent that you could see fitting into the sketch of what I am looking for. I have a grand piano in my home and play but singing is my main thing so I would like guitarist(s), piano player(s), other vocalists, other musicians who can round this out. One thing this will not become is a hard rock, loud and screeching band, OK?

Lovely, haunting, fun and beautiful tunes with meaning and passion will be the overall goal. Please call me at (216) 397-5831.
