Subject: Kassaba Jazz Quartet at Fairmount Church Nov. 13

I would be grateful for any publicity you might be able to give for this
wonderful group. I know you have played some of their music on several
different programs. --Bob Moncrief (Fairmount's Minister of Music)

Kassaba Jazz Quartet in concert at Fairmount Presbyterian Church 2757
Fairmount Blvd, Cleveland Hts OH 44118

Sunday, November 13, at 4:00 PM

Admission by free-will offering. Reception following.

Pianists Candice Lee, Greg Slawson, and bassist Chris Vance are alumni of
the Cleveland Institute of Music. Saxophonist Mark Boich graduated from the
Berklee Collge of Music in Boston. Kassaba's music is composed by Greg
Slawson.

Kassaba introduces a unique concept to live performance with piano,
saxophones, bass, and 25 percussion instruments. Four musicians create the
effect of a drummer by moving around during the original compositions that
resonate like jazz and classical with some world music influence. Because of
their versatility, they have played in clubs, museums, galleries, and
concert venues.

"Kassaba takes the vessel of jazz and pours into it the wine of avant-garde
rigor and rhetoric with a playfulness reflected in the instrumental juggling
act on stage." (Mark Satoloa, music critic and broadcaster)

"The best thing about Kassaba's music is it defies categorization. And it is
this very thing which gives Kassaba's music its freshness and whimsey."
(Laura Varcho, writer for Cool Cleveland.com)
