Marcus Vinicius Garcia de Magalhaes, nickname COREBA, began doing=20

Capoeira in 1988 with the Beribazu Capoeira Group in Vitoria, Espirito=20

Santo State in Brazil. In 1993, he joined Mestre Mao Branca=92s group,
Capoeira Gerais. In 1996, he moved to Belo Horizonte in the state of
Minas Gerais, where he began his work with

Mestre Mao Branca=92s Academy. Coreba stayed there for 9 years and=20

developed a solid work in schools and social projects, including a very=20

special work with children with Down Syndrome. In 2002, he moved to
Madrid, Spain where=20

he taught Capoeira and participated in conferences about this rich
cultural art.=20

In 2005 he moved to Boston, MA and is teaching in Worcester and Ludlow.
Coreba has made important contributions both composing and singing on
three CDs recorded by the Capoeira Gerais group.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art created by enslaved Africans
in Brazil as a dance that disguises the martial aspects. It embodies the
spirit of self-expression, discipline, creativity and grace. The classes
offered at Passport Project are open to all levels. Wear comfortable
