'HOME'

The African Community Theatre presents 'HOME' by Samm-Art Williams.
Performances of this play will be Friday, November 11, through Sunday,
November 13, and Friday, November 18, through Sunday, November 20,
2005. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00 p.m. and both Sunday
matinee performances at 3:00 p.m. All performances will be held at the
African Community Theatre, second floor of Oscar Ritchie Hall, Terrace
Drive, Kent State University, Kent, Ohio.

'HOME' is a folk play, an odyssey of a young black farmer torn from his
land because he believed "THOU SHALT NOT KILL." With his refusal to go to
Vietnam and kill, he is uprooted from his land, imprisoned, taken to the
big city, exposed to drugs, poverty, prostitution, and
alcoholism. Although his faith in God seems lost, after 13 years he
returns "HOME" to find that God never lost faith in him. This story will
make you laugh as it interlocks monologues, poems, and country tall tales.
But it will also give you warmth and humanity as it mingles elements of the
prodigal son.

"Home" features the talents of Michael May from Cleveland, Brandi Davis
from Warren and Adrienne Broussard from New Orleans.

Tickets are $7.00 for Students and Senior Citizens and $10.00 for General
Admission. For reservations, call (330) 672-2300 or 330-672-0151.
