For a show that will have you on your feet go see Hudson Players' =
current production.

Forever Plaid is so funny, and fun to watch.

The music is pretty good, but it isn't good until you have the actors =
and all the choreography that the music really comes alive.

This production features four dynamic singers:  Frankie (Gary Maher), =
Smudge (Mark Judy), Sparky (Dustin Oliver), and Jinx (Matt Linek) =
performing wonderful songs from the top of the charts in the 1950's.

There is a hilarious tribute to The Ed Sullivan Show, featuring Linek =
singing "Lady of Spain", complete with an accordion and a high"A" that =
he held beautifully for so long, I wish I could have timed it.

These guys made the transition from nervous wannabes to first-class =
performers, wonderfully mixing some humor and cheesy sentimentality into =
their performances.

In particular, Maher's ability to summarize the lofty ideals of the =
Plaids in an emotionally-charged speech and then return to singing =
showed a control that is not seen in rank amateurs.

The harmony is tight, the lead vocals excellent, and the entire =
experience of this musical is great for all ages.

Now in its 61st season, Hudson Players will be performing Forever Plaid, =
Friday and Saturday nights at 8 pm through November 19, with a matinee =
on November 13 at 2pm. =20

Tickets are $12 regular admission and $10.50 for students and senior =
citizens.  Individual show tickets can be reserved by calling =
330-655-8522, or purchasing them in advance at The Learned Owl Bookshop =
on Main Street in Hudson or by purchasing them at the door on =
performance evenings.
